Once upon a time in a faraway land, a man was sitting on rock watching people. We are not sure why, but he was content just watching for hours.

As he watched, an unusual thing happened, he began to notice incredible similarities in the people who passed by. Although each one physically looked different, there were great similarities in HOW they acted. Some seemed talkative and friendly, while others were all business. Some talked more than they listened while others just listened. He was fascinated and was learning so much about people just by watching.

Then an idea popped into his mind, “If I become like the person I am talking to, maybe I can get to know more people and really make a difference in their lives!” Will it work?

I am just about to head off to deliver an on-site workshop to my clients leadership group on how to give feedback.
It is surprising show many managers don’t have a good framework for delivering feedback.
Without it feedback can come across as dreaded, naggy and useless.
Worse still, it gets avoided and demotivates everyone involved.
Good feedback is short, useful and timely. It leaves both parties inspired to do better.
