Scientists tell us that routine is the key to good health
It’s not just a change in sleep that can throw off your body clock; A change in timing of food intake and psychical activity can affect your organs in a similar way. Just as the body clock regulates a range of functions in different organ systems, interfering with this primordial rhythm can compromise health in many different ways. If you are susceptible to one specific type of illness, you may notice its symptoms first. If you have always had problems with acne, disruption in your circadian rhythm might lead to a major outbreak. If you have a sensitive stomach, circadian disruption can give you heartburn or indigestion. Its quite possible that some of the daily discomforts, frequent illnesses or chronic diseases you may have are linked to circadian disruptions. The symptoms of many illnesses include poor or excessive sleep, change in appetite, or reduced physical activity.
The bottom line is; maintain a routine – eat, sleep and exercise at the same time each day. Don’t eat past 7.30.
